Dr. A. Ray Stanford, who was known to many as “Ray,” went to be with his Savior Whom he faithfully served for so many years on May 21, 2012.
Ray, was the founder of Christian Youth Ranches; Grove Community Church; Florida
Bible Church and Florida Bible College. He was later instrumental in founding two
Bible colleges in Muslim influenced Egypt. He publicly debated the well-
There is no way to accurately determine how many thousands whom he helped lead to belief in Jesus as their Savior. His passion was to consistently and clearly present the good news of faith alone in Jesus alone for eternal life and then to encourage discipleship in the believer.
This was replicated in many thousands of lives through Ray’s consistent faithfulness over the years. He strove to present the message in a simple manner so that the process could be multiplied over and over again. (2 Timothy 2:2).
He will be missed by his family and many, many more to whom they owe a great deal. His legacy and testimony lives on with eternal values in view. To many, he was the first to present the Bible principle of salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8,9). His “Handbook of Personal Evangelism” (available on this website and elsewhere) has helped many to become better disciples for Christ and to lead others to Him. This website is one of the many fruits of his ministry.
Ray will be missed but he has passed the torch on to others. He can now say with the Apostle Paul, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7),
I think that Ray’s admonition to us would be: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
“…He that winneth souls is wise.”( Proverbs 11:30).
